New Member BBQ
On September 19th, Block and Bridle and Gator Collegiate Cattle Women co-hosted the new member welcome BBQ. This dinner gave both new and old members the chance to mingle and meet. Attendees had the chance to some amazing pork sandwiches and sides provided by the old members. Once everyone had their fill, there was an inflatable obstacle course waiting outside. A relay race was held between new and old members where new members took the win.

2019 Little International Livestock Show
Our 2019 Little I was an absolute success with over 30 new members participating. Over the course of several months, our new members continuously worked with their respective species in order to prepare for this show. Our old members who were experienced with the various species were gracious enough to volunteer as coaches to help our new members learn to perfect their showmanship skills. Our coachers were Layni Challendar and Julia Roberts for swine, Cash Rice and Michael Fioretto for dairy, Meghan Wentzel and Harrell Phillips III, Jordan Gandy and Alyssa Ohmstede for equine. For the show, two winners were chosen for each species to go on and compete in the round robin contest. This year, our Grand Champion was Stephanie Shimer from the swine team and our Reserve Champion was Gina Tran who was also from the swine team. Our club sweetheart was Layni Challendar, who was also the swine coach and our secretary. We would like to thank Harrell Phillips III for organizing planning and organizing this event. We would also like to thank our judges for coming to help judge the shows and to our sponsors for helping us put on this show. To all of our old members, department faculty, advisors, and parents, we sincerely appreciate you coming out and supporting our students!
Grand Champion: Stephanie Shimer
Reserve Champion: Gina Tran

2019 NCBA and Block and Bridle National Convention
From Jan 29th-Feb 2nd, sixteen of our members attended the National Block and Bridle Convention hosted alongside NCBA in New Orleans, LA. This five day event allowed the attendees to experience Block and Bridle on a national scale, network with some of the cattle industry's best and brightest, see the newest technologies in the trade show, and tour some of the most amazing ranches, stables and culture in the South. Overall, the experience was well worth the drive.
