Ray Kempfer Memorial Clay Shoot
The Annual Ray Kempfer Memorial Clay Shoot is an event that our club members hold dear to our hearts. Ray Kempfer was an extremely active club member, and served as president of Block and Bridle while he attended University of Florida. Ray embodied the very ideals in which Block and Bridle stands for, including generosity, sincerity and scholarly pursuit. Shortly after graduating from the University of Florida, Ray unexpectedly passed away. Along with the Kempfer family, Block and Bridle initiated the Ray Kempfer Memorial Scholarship in the Department of Animal Sciences. All funds raised from the sporting clay shoot will be donated to this scholarship fund. In addition to the sporting clay shoot, lunch was served, door prizes and team awards given away, and a shotgun was awarded to the high scoring participant.
